Wake The President - Remember Fun?

Led by two Swedish twins with a penchant for Pop of the Postcard kind, Wake the President are making huge waves on the underground scene, due to support the legendary Vic Godard and the Subway Sect in a few weeks time, and getting this release on the notable Glasgow student label Electric Honey, who’s last vinyl output was a humble little piece from Belle and Sebastian called Tigermilk. It’s fitting then that 'Remember Fun?' is a grand and glorious swoop of a song, beginning with a whisper of guitars and branching out in such a fulsome manner into a four-part movement. Drums and bass gently quake, a guitar spins mellifluous, the Scottish-inflected tones of Erik President lay on top of the lightly shimmering fare like a warm blanket, and Wake the President succeed in heralding deepest winter with a gallon of wonder.
